As one of the key purposes of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival Society is to connect and bring people together under the cherry tree, we were devastated to cancel/postpone all physical events this season, yet also extremely grateful that some of our content can still be shared online. We look forward to spreading cherry blossom joy and sharing our programming online to help uplift everyone’s spirits during these trying times.
The impact of being unable to proceed with our fundraising activities will have long-term repercussions for VCBF, as we foresee the next couple of years to be challenging for us. If you enjoyed the cherry blossom joy we shared with you this year, please consider making a donation—every little bit makes a difference, now more than ever, and will help ensure the successful return of all our programs in 2021. As a charitable non-profit society, all funds raised help to sustain our intra-community arts and culture festival, helping to fund our free, accessible events focused on “connecting our communities”. The Festival values diversity, inclusiveness, and accessibility, which is why we embrace the mantra, “there is no stranger under the cherry tree”. We curate free, family-friendly, cultural performances and interactive activities, to promote intercultural understanding and awareness, helping to break down cultural and societal barriers.
